Punjabi sukhi channa dal Ingredients:

Chana dal :- 1 cup
Salt to taste
Onions   :-   1
Turmeric powder :-  1
Coriander Leaves  :-  handful
Cinnamon sticks  :-  2
Cloves :- 2
Bay leafs :-  1
Cumin seeds :-    ¼ tsp
Lemon juice :-  1 tsp
Ghee :-  1 tbsp

Punjabi sukhi channa dal Preparation:

1.      Chana dal should be cleaned, washed and soaked for about an hour.
2.      The dal should be pressure-cooked along with 3 cups of water and then kept aside.
3.      Ghee should be heated in a pan and cinnamon-sticks, cloves, cumin seeds and bay leafs should be added till they start popping up.
4.      Onions should be added and fried till they become brown in colour. Turmeric powder and salt should be added and mixed well.
5.      Dal should be added and boiled for about a few minutes.
6.      It should be garnished with coriander leaves. Lemon juice should be added and stirred when they dal cools.
7.      The sukhi chana dal can be served with rice or roti.
