BEANS PORIYAL

INGREDIENTS

French beans , 1/2 centimeter pieces
250 grams
Salt
to taste
Oil
4-5 tablespoons
Mustard seeds
1/2 teaspoon
Split black gram skinless (dhuli urad dal)
1 teaspoon
Asafoetida
a pinch
Whole dry red chillies, broken

Curry leaves
8-10
Coconut, scraped
1/4 cup

METHOD
Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and urad dal and sauté till dal turns light brown.Add asafoetida, broken red chillies and sauté for half a minute. Add beans, curry leaves and salt. Mix well. Add coconut and mix. Cover and cook on medium heat for five minutes. Serve hot as a side dish.
